VAIRKKO recommends the compact and ulta-portable KDC 200i for agency's who required barcode integration with the VAIRKKO Platform inventory management system. The below instructions will detail the steps needed to take in order to configure the KDC 200i:
- Upon receiving your KDC 200i from the manufacturer you will want to use their "Quick Start" guide to pair the scanner using Bluetooth to your mobile device of choice such as phones, tablets or mobile computers
- After the scanner is paired successfully to the device of your choosing you will then need to configure the bar code symbologies accordingly:
- Press both side buttons on the scanner simultaneously to bring up the menu.
- Select SET BARCODES
- Ensure CODE39 is selected (will have an "*" next to the name) and scroll to SAVE AND EXIT
- Next scroll to SCAN OPTIONS and click on front button of scanner
- Scroll to MIN LENGTH and click on the front button of the scanner
- On this screen use the side button to change the number on the screen to "2 Chars"
- Press the front button on the scanner and select "SAVE & EXIT"
- At this point your scanner will be able to read the barcodes produced by the EMS VAIRKKO Platform
You may wish to further configure the scanner to enhance your overall experience. Just some of the settings within the scanner you may wish to further configure include:
- Under the main menu:
- BT Config --> Connect Device: The value for iPhones and (iXXXX devices) should be set to HID iOS
- BT Config --> Auto Connect: The value should be set to ENABLED
- BT Config --> Auto Reconnect: The value should be set to ENABLED
- BT Config --> Power Off Time: The value should be as low as your agency requires to conserve the battery of the scanner while high enough that the scanner does not power off unnecessarily throughout the day.
